By now almost everyone has heard of "apps," all these different uses for cell phones and these new ultra-slim "tablet" portable computers such as the iPad. Unless you experience one, it's hard to understand what all the hubbub is all about.
I like to equate it to the 1950's and 1960's when inventions didn't come fast and furious, but ever so slowly. When anything new happened, such as portable transistor radios or a self-correcting typewriter, it was amazing.
Many apps on smartphones are, kind of, like that. True, there are large numbers of useless apps. But by no means all! Many are hidden from view because of the shear flood of apps and difficulty in finding apps that are relevant to your interests.
That's why I developed Healthful Apps. Because I know there are professional people and others with a good idea, who are trying to take advantage of this new platform to get their useful ideas out to the general public, usually for no more than a dollar or two.
Some of those people you know, like Oprah and Deepak Chopra. Others are scientists, physicians, and mental health professionals, lesser known, but fired up with good ideas.
Healthful Apps simply recommends the best apps for Relaxation, Memory and Focus, Alzheimer's, Caregiving, Health Tracker, Dialysis, Mood Lifters, and Communication/Autism.
I would appreciate your feedback, and am available to answer questions.
